Field Operations

The Universal Manual Logger system is an offline-first data capture platform made up of two paired applications: Mobile Logger and Web Logger. Mobile Logger is the Android field app operators use to log tag values, images, geodata, and remarks, queuing everything locally in SQLite so entries don’t require a live connection, then syncing to Web Logger whenever the device can reach it.

Web Logger is the backend and admin web app that defines the templates, tags, and groups Mobile Logger pulls down, hosts the REST API Mobile Logger syncs against, and owns the approval workflow, configuration, and access control once submissions are pushed up from the field. Together, Mobile Logger handles reliable field capture under poor connectivity while Web Logger handles central configuration, review, and routing to downstream systems like PI, CDS, and InfluxDB.
